Grindstone Theatre is a non-profit Edmonton based theatre company established in 2011 by Founder and Artistic Director Byron Martin. We are an intimate 85 seat theatre and licensed restaurant. The venue is home to over thirty local independent artists/producers with fourteen shows per week, shows are on nightly from Wednesday to Sunday. The Grindstone has recently signed a lease on a new venue; a lovely basement suite under the Mill Creek Cafe on Whyte Avenue. This is our venue for educational programming and classes- we look forward to hosting some Fringe shows here too! Over the past two years, our Education Department has grown substantially. Our Winter Term 2020 had 135 students taking classes in Burlesque, Improv, Acting, Stand-Up, and Sketch-Writing. We offer four terms per year as well as conservatory programming, workshops, and touring workshops. |
